GARAGE RAX, LLC , a small, family run, Christian based business with headquarters in McKinney, TX, was started in February of 2004 with the vision of introducing the overhead storage product to the DFW market. As the story goes, we were not looking to start a business, we simply wanted to re-claim some of our own garage floor space. Originally being from upstate NY, where most of the homes have sufficient storage provided by attics and basements, we were not used to homes with no basements or the inconvenient and dangerous attic access stairs for storing seasonal items, or worse yet, paying for off-site self storage.

Determined to conquer our own clutter, we searched the internet and bought a high quality 4x8 storage rack for our own home; and about 2 weeks later, the "boss" said "Honey, buy another one of those rack things!" Well, one 4x8 rack led to a second 4x8 rack and a smaller 4x4 rack; and before long, neighbors and friends starting asking where we got them from. Those 3 racks, were actually written into the purchase contract when we sold our home, the exact verbiage was: "The garage storage racks stay" - They really do add real value.
In any case, having always been one with an entrepreneurial spirit, and lucky enough to have a wife that supports that entrepreneurial spirit, those early inquiries and a few phone calls to the manufacturer started the ball rolling and GARAGE RAX has grown into what it is today. We had very humble beginnings as one of the early pioneers for the DFW overhead storage market, and now 4 years later, a handful of competitors have come along; but GARAGE RAX continues to grow and we could not do that without our loyal customer base that continues to support us through referrals, every day.
